Real Mallorca Preview: Need to find form

Under the management of former Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate, Real Mallorca do remain tucked inside the top-half and well in contention for the UEFA competition qualification spots with the top eight likely to be enough to qualify for Europe.

The Balearic Islanders, though, have endured some tough form in the last few years with their most recent outing, a 1-0 defeat to Valencia at Mestalla last weekend, meaning they have managed just two victories in their last 12 matches across all competitions.

Celta Vigo Preview: La Liga’s entertainers

Former B team coach Claudio Giraldez, who took charge following the disappointing stint of Rafa Benitez around this time last year, has not only made Celta a serious top eight challenger in La Liga but they have done so in an entertaining manner, too.

The Galicians’ 29 matches in the league have consisted of 84 goals so far this season. They were most recently denied all three points at Balaidos last weekend as they shared a 1-1 draw at home to Las Palmas.

Real Mallorca Team News: Striker issues

The Majorcans are dealing with some key injury issues in attack for this weekend. Key man and Kosovo international Vedat Muriqi is sidelined alongside Canada international attacker Cyle Larin.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Greif; Mateu Morey, Antonio Raillo, Copete; Pablo Maffeo, Manu Morlanes, Costa, Johan Mojica; Sergi Darder; Asano, Abdon

Celta Vigo Team News: No Oscar Mingueza

Former Barcelona defender and Spain international Oscar Mingueza is unavailable for this weekend’s trip to Palma de Mallorca due to suspension. They also have some key injury doubts such as Hugo Alvarez and Williot Swedberg.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Vicente Guaita; Javi Rodriguez, Starfelt, Marcos Alonso; Sergio Carreira, Damian Rodriguez, Ilaix Moriba, Ristic; Iker Losada, Borja Iglesias, Alfon

Unavailable: Oscar Mingueza (Suspended)

Questionable: Hugo Alvarez (Injured), Swedberg (Injured)

Real Mallorca vs Celta Vigo Prediction

Real Mallorca have tried to play a more progressive style of football and aren’t as direct with the aforementioned Muriqi and Larin remaining their key players but they have still lacked goals and their absence is unlikely to help that. That said, it could help the likes of Takuma Asano in a more fluent system with Celta one of the more entertaining sides, too, both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one at Son Moix.
