RB Leipzig Preview: Hitting form at the right time
RB Leipzig are in a good position to make that big tilt towards the Champions League when taking into account their current form in the Bundesliga. They’ve won three of their last four league matches and head coach Zsolt Low is clearly getting a tune out of this immensely talented squad who have underperformed in the main across 2024-25.
Last time out saw Leipzig defeat Wolfsburg by three goals to two on the road in a thrilling contest. A Xavi Simons double proved critical to the visitors’ success despite Wolfsburg’s best attempts at mounting a comeback.
Holstein Kiel Preview: Running out of games
Holstein Kiel’s hopes of survival are fading by the match and their disastrous 1-2 loss at home to St. Pauli last weekend leaves them four points adrift inside the automatic relegation places with just five league games still to play.
The visitors have not won in the Bundesliga since the beginning of March and have now gone five league matches without a victory, leaving them in deep trouble at the foot of the table.
RB Leipzig Team News: Changes in midfield
Xavi Simons' suspension means that Low must make at least one change to his midfield with Christoph Baumgartner a candidate to come into the starting line-up. Elsewhere, the likes of Antonio Nusa, Xavi Schlager and left-back David Raum are all out injured.
Predicted XI (4-2-2-2): Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Bitshiabu, Lukeba; Kampl, Haidara; Baku, Baumgartner; Sesko, Openda
Unavailable: Henrichs (Injured), Nusa (Injured), Ouedraogo (Injured), Raum (Injured), Schlager (Injured), Simons (Suspended)

RB Leipzig vs Holstein Kiel Prediction
If RB Leipzig play to the best of their ability, particularly from an attacking perspective, then the likelihood is that they will wind up far too strong for Holstein Kiel’s fragile backline. Whilst Leipzig’s defence isn’t the best by any means, the firepower contained by the hosts going forward should make up for that. With that in mind, back an RB Leipzig victory but with both teams scoring in the process.
