PSG Preview: Frustrated PSG

Former Barcelona and Spain coach Luis Enrique has signed a new deal in charge of Paris Saint-Germain has he embarks upon a project to develop and evolve the club into a new era and generation with the arrival of key young French players and departures of mega stars but things haven’t improved on the continent.

They sit at the top-of-the-table in France with eight victories and two draws in their opening ten matches as they sit three points clear of Monaco. However, they currently sit outside of the top 24 and the qualifying spots in the UEFA Champions League after a recent 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid at the Parc des Princes.

Toulouse Preview: Improving Toulouse

Toulouse are focusing on domestic action this season after qualifying for the UEFA Europa League ahead of schedule in the 2022/23 campaign by winning the Coupe de France. They started this season slowly but stuck by Carlos Martinez Novell and have begun to creep up the 18-team Ligue 1 table.

Toulouse went into the November international break on the back of three-match winning streak. They defeated Montpellier Herault by three goals to nil before a 1-0 win against Stade de Reims at Stadium de Toulouse. They then defeated Stade Rennais by two goals to nil in their most recent outing, a couple of weeks ago.

PSG Team News: No Marquinhos or Goncalo Ramos

On the opening day, Goncalo Ramos picked up a serious ankle injury but did return in the early autumn. However, he is once again absent due to injury for the Parisiens.

As well as the absence of Ramos, PSG are also without Brazil international Marquinhos due to suspension, whilst Presnel Kimpembe remains a long-term absentee.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Skriniar, Beraldo, Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Fabian Ruiz, Mayulu; Lee, Marco Asensio, Barcola

Unavailable: Marquinhos (Suspended), Kimpembe (Injured), Ramos (Injured)

Questionable:

Toulouse Team News: No Nicolaisen

Denmark international defender Rasmus Nicolaisen remains the only injury absentee for the visitors as he continues to recover from an ankle injury suffered last month.

Carlos Martinez Novell has persisted with the back three system at Stadium de Toulouse and he will continue with that as results begin to turn around in recent weeks.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Restes; Sidibe, Cresswell, McKenzie; Donnum, Cristian Casseres Jr, Sierro, Gabriel Suazo; Aboukhlal, Gboho; King

Unavailable: Nicolaisen (Injured)

Questionable:

PSG vs Toulouse Prediction

Luis Enrique is embarking upon an experimental era as a coach and he has regularly named some extremely young PSG teams, which is a lot easier to do politically without any mega stars anymore at Parc des Princes. They remain free scoring and too good for Ligue 1 and that is expected to be the case this weekend, despite the fact the visitors have been much-improved in the last month or so.

PSG vs Toulouse Tip: PSG to win & over 2.5 goals
