The prediction

With just one win on the season against the lowly Richmond Tigers, Port Adelaide find themselves at a crossroad very early in the season. No bigger test in AFL comes to town than the resurgent Hawthorn. 

With quality wins against both the Swans and the Giants, Hawthorn’s quest to continue their undefeated start to the season looks real. The Power team is desperately lacking consistency, dropping winnable matches to both the Bombers and Saints in the past fortnight.

Port edged the Hawks in two classic matches last year, including an elimination semi final thriller 75-72. Karl Amon leads the Hawks with 24 possessions per game while for Port their ball winning trio of Ollie Wines, Zak Butters and Connor Rozee are averaging 30 possessions each.

Jason Horne-Francis was the lone bright spot for the Power last week with three goals while for the Hawks their scoring has been evenly spread with no player having more than seven goals in the early going.

Despite the home state advantage, we think Hawthorn remain undefeated for another week.
