Polina Kudermetova vs Diana Shnaider prediction

Polina Kuderemtova came through her first-round match against Irina-Camelia Begu with relative ease, winning 6-3 6-4 as she looks to recapture the form which took her all the way to the final of the Brisbane International.

Kuderemtova won the first set comfortably but had to dig deep in the second, having gone a break down early and failing to close the match out on her serve at 5-3. 

Diana Shnaider gets her clay court season underway having received a bye in the first round. The world number 14 isn’t in particularly great form in terms of singles, with early losses at Indian Wells and Miami, though she did win the doubles event in the latter with partner Mirra Andreeva.

Shnaider does have a singles title on the surface, having won the Budapest Grand Prix in July last year, and we think she’ll have enough to win but she may have to work hard for victory against Kudermetova.
