Poland vs Lithuania Prediction
Michal Probierz led Poland to UEFA EURO 2024 with playoff wins against Estonia and Wales last year but they, once again, underwhelmed at a major tournament with a group stage exit despite a draw with France. They face what is a limited Lithuania side in Warsaw this week.
Poland have been able to select Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, despite the fact the 36-year-old didn’t play in the UEFA Nations League in the autumn and the fact Barca are fighting for a treble this season. They are, though, without the likes of Sebastian Walukiewicz, Nicola Zalewski, Piotr Zielinski and Arkadiusz Milik.
They now face a Lithuania side that were most recently beaten 1-0 by Kosovo in Pristina during the November international break in a game in which the Kosovans were down to ten men for the entirety of the second-half. The Lithuanians failed to collect a single point from League C Group 2 in the UEFA Nations League.
Poland, despite their inconsistencies and generally unconvincing performances in the last 12 months, are the firm favourites for this one, especially with their home advantage.
