Although she has recorded a couple of notable victories this year over the likes of Ons Jabeur and Qinwen Zheng, both in Dubai, Peyton Stearns has not reached the quarter-finals of a WTA event since August last year, Indeed, her 2025 so far has been characterised by inconsistency, and she comes into this having lost in straight sets to Varvara Gracheva in the first round of the ATX Open despite the fact she was seeded third in that event.
