PERTH SCORCHERS PREVIEW: MIXED BACK AGAINST MELBOURNE

After defeating Melbourne Stars by 13 runs, the Renegades proved too hot to handle for the Scorchers, beating them by six wickets thanks largely to Courtney Webb’s 61. Perth were bowled out for 140, which never looked like being a big enough score on a good pitch, leaving their bowlers with too much to do.

BRISBANE HEAT PREVIEW: CANES DOUSE HEAT DESPITE HARRIS FIREWORKS

Grace Harris did all she could for her team, smoking 75 for Brisbane as they posted 173/5 against Hobart Hurricanes. However, a poor bowling performance from the Heat saw them lose out in the end with wickets difficult to come by and Danni Wyatt-Hodge putting them under immense pressure. In the end, Brisbane took just three wickets as the Canes made it home with two balls to spare.

PERTH SCORCHERS BETTING ANALYSIS

Leg-spin bowlers are always likely to prove effective in Australian conditions and Alana King has certainly been the point of difference needed by Perth Scorchers with the ball. King’s two wickets vs the Renegades helped her finish the second match running as Perth’s top bowling following her ‘3fer’ against the Stars. Having started strongly, expect King to maintain those high levels with another 2+ wickets this time around.

BRISBANE HEAT BETTING ANALYSIS

We’ve touched upon Grace Harris across this season’s WBBL and specifically her six-hitting ability. All three matches played by the Heat so far have seen Harris clear the boundary rope at least once. She seems to be getting better as the tournament goes on and her power should continue to serve the opener well moving forward. With that in mind, back Harris to strike over 0.5 match sixes for a fourth straight game.

PERTH SCORCHERS VS BRISBANE HEAT EXPERT PREDICTION

When you take into account the sheer lack of cutting edge with the ball last time out, the Brisbane Heat could be in for further struggle with the ball, especially on a ground such as the WACA. Perth Scorchers should find themselves in a prime position to take advantage and are well worth backing to record what would be their second win of the tournament.
