Penrith Panthers team news
Head Coach Ivan Cleary will be forced into another different spine combination – the most of any team this season – Mitch Kenny (suspension – two weeks) will be replaced by Luke Sommerton with Brad Schneider on the bench to give him a break when needed. Luke Garner (concussion) is out so Izack Tago goes back to the centres after being demoted to the bench, he was eyeing a move to the second row to rectify the defensive issues that have plagued him this season, though that now is on hold for at least another week. Mavrik Geyer join the interchange bench.

Manly Sea Eagles team news
Wonderful news for Manly Sea Eagles fans with Tom Trbojevic named at fullback to make his comeback against Penrith on Saturday night. This would mark four weeks since he suffered an MCL injury against the Eels. With the bye next week, there was a school of thought to give him the extra fortnight. Lehi Hopoate returns to the wing while Tommy Talau drops to the bench and Clayton Faulalo misses out altogether. Tom’s brother Jake Trbojevic (concussion) is unavailable. Jazz Tevaga starts at lock and Jake Simpkin shifts to hooker. In more reshuffling, Josh Aloiai has been named to start at prop while Nathan Brown has been named on the bench despite suffering a shoulder injury in last week’s loss to the Dragons.
Squad: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Josh Aloiai 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jazz Tevaga 14. Tommy Talau 15. Corey Waddell 16. Ethan Bullemor 17. Nathan Brown 18. Gordon Chan Kum Tong 19. Clayton Faulalo 20. Jakob Arthur 21. Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles prediction
Fresh off the back of a narrow home defeat against the Dragons, Manly go away from home for only the second time this year to take on a Panthers team that is gathering momentum. Since the Daly Cherry-Evans contract saga the performances on the have been inconsistent to say the least.
Sea Eagles are in the middle of a concerning form slump, combine that with a terrible recent record without Trbojevic and they are at a flashpoint early in the season. Since 2020 Manly have won 35 percent of their matches with “Turbo “compared to a 61 percent record with him. They have now dropped five of their last six games without Trbojevic so his inclusion is key.
Are the real Penrith Panthers back? They demolished the Roosters with a 40-12 display that was more like the Panthers that we have become accustomed to over the past five seasons. They still sit near the bottom of the ladder, however more performances like the one against the Roosters will have teams beginning to look over their shoulder again. Their outside backs are back on the try-scoring list so look for Paul Alamoti and Casey McLean to feature again.
Recent history between the two sides heavily favours the Panthers, winning nine of the past ten matches. We think the Panthers win again this week.
