Pedro Martinez suffered a bagel in the first set of his first-round match on Tuesday against Damir Dzumhur but he got his game together and managed to win the second and third sets to run out 0-6 6-2 7-6 winner.

He has been in solid form in recent weeks and he put in a good showing in the Rotterdam Open with wins over Roberto Bautista Agut and Holger Rune before being outclassed by Carlos Alcaraz.

He now meets Argentine veteran Diego Schwartzman who produced a determined display to get past Nicolas Jarry. The 32-year-old is retiring after this event so he prolonged his career for another game but it is hard to see him getting through another.

Martinez is in decent form and there will be no sentiment afford to Schwartzman. Expect Martinez to put in a professional display and get the win to signal the end of the Argentine’s career.
