Pedro Martinez vs Brandon Nakashima prediction

Pedro Martinez had to retire from the quarter-finals of the Bucharest Open but still played in Monte-Carlo. He came through his first-round match against Lorenzo Sonego in three sets, though had the chances to make the encounter far more comfortable with the amount of break point opportunities he squandered.

He looked set for a fine comeback win against Nuno Borges having lost the first set. Martinez was 4-1 up in the third and just two games away from victory, but his opponent came roaring back to win five games in a row and advance through to the next round. The Spaniard will want to bounce back after such a difficult defeat and takes on Brandon Nakashima in the first round.

The young American did not get going against Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round at Monte-Carlo, losing 6-2 6-4. This was just two days after he had reached the semi-finals in Houston, his first clay court tournament of the year.

We think Nakashima after a few days of rest will be much improved and may just have the edge to win this one.
