Payton Talbott: Talented bantamweight coming off successive Performance of the Night displays
Payton Talbott (9-0) is showing plenty of potential and the Las Vegas native is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC right now. The 26-year-old came through Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2023 and has won all three fights in the Octagon. Seven of his nine wins have come by knockout including his last two bouts in the UFC that have both led to Performance of the Night bonuses for the talented bantamweight. He now looks to make it ten in a row and make further inroads up the rankings.
Raoni Barcelos: 37-year-old Brazilian looking to derail Talbott’s rise
Raoni Barcelos (18-5) is coming off a submission victory over Cristian Quinonez last time out but it is almost a year since his last fight. The 37-year-old returns to action having lost four of his last six and at this stage of his career, he knows another loss could be pretty damaging for his future in the UFC. The Brazilian will relish the opportunity to derail the Talbott train but it remains to be seen whether he can do just that.

The experienced Raoni Barcelos is the man tasked with being the measuring stick to assess how good Payton Talbott actually is. This match is one of the most fascinating on the card at UFC 311 and it is exciting to see whether Talbott can live up to the hype after such a bright start to his professional MMA career.
Barcelos is under some pressure to get a win at this stage of his career to remain relevant but that is easier said than done.
