PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN PREVIEW: HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Sandwiched between a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal in North London have been a win for Paris Saint-Germain against Girona and a 1-1 draw vs PSV Eindhoven. The French champions would benefit hugely from gaining a positive result here, specifically a first victory in this competition since the first round of fixtures.

PSG are coming off the back of two huge domestic triumphs over Marseille and Lens respectively. After going to Marseille and winning 0-3 in the cauldron that is the Stade Velodrome, Luis Enrique’s side returned home and defeated Lens by a goal to nil.

ATLETICO MADRID PREVIEW: DEFENSIVE RESILIENCE HAS DESERTED SIMEONE’S MEN

Under the command of Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid have always been known historically for being really strong defensively and for conceding hardly any goals. However, such stability at the back has evaded them in recent European games and they come into this one having shipped seven goals across their last two Champions League matches.

Ever since their comeback victory over RB Leipzig, it’s been a nightmare for Atletico. Firstly, they were thrashed 4-0 by Benfica in Portugal, before it got worse for them against Lille on their own ground. After taking the lead, Atletico collapsed in dramatic fashion after the hour mark, conceding three goals without reply.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN VS ATLETICO MADRID PREDICTION

Neither Paris Saint-Germain nor Atletico Madrid have been anywhere near their best across the league phase so far. But PSG have at least underlined their resilience at home, winning one and drawing one of their two games as the Parc des Princes. Atletico’s last away fixture in this competition saw them heavily beaten by Benfica.

In the end, utilise the safety of the draw no bet market and back Paris Saint-Germain to maintain that unbeaten record on their own ground by grabbing three more points, this time over Atletico as they jostle for position in the league phase table.
