When is the Paris 2024 Olympics taking place? The Paris 2024 Olympics is taking take place between 26th July, 2024 and 11th August 2024, although some preliminary events began on 24th July, 2024.

MEN’S 10M PLATFORM

PREDICTION
China have dominated the diving once again this Olympics after they were left frustrated by Team GB picking up a surprise gold in the men’s synchronised 10m platform in Tokyo. In the final event of the diving at this summer’s games, China are going for a clean sweep and really should achieve that.
The defending champion, 29-year-old three-time Olympic gold medallist and five-time Olympic medallist, Cao Yuan, qualified as the best and is expected to win gold. Japan’s Rikuto Yamai and Canada’s Rylan Wiens look like major challengers to Yuan’s compatriot, Yang Hao, getting on the podium.

MEN’S MADISON

Who is the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s Madison? Denmark
PREDICTION
In 2021, at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Denmark’s pairing of Lasse Norman Hansen and Michael Morkov took home the gold medal ahead of Team GB’s Ethan Hayter and Matthew Walls, whilst Benjamin Thomas and Donovan Grondin of France managed to win the silver medal.
Well, Denmark have qualified again for Paris but are way down the rankings and are not even necessarily expected to challenge for a gold with Great Britain likely to rival Italy as well but the favourite for the race, based on the form and recent World Championships, would have to be the Netherlands.

MEN’S 800M

Who is the current world record holder of the men’s 800m? David Rudisha (KEN) with 1:40.91 in London on 9th August 2012
PREDICTION
In Tokyo, the gold and silver medal positions on the podium were taken up by two Kenyans with Emmanuel Korir winning the race and Ferguson Rotich finishing up as second place and Patryk Dobek of Poland in the bronze medal position.
None of those three are in Paris, though, but we do have a Kenyan semi-final winner in Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who will be tipped up for the gold. However, the favourite does remain Algeria’s Djamel Sedjati, despite Wanyonyi’s good form.

WOMEN’S 1500M

PREDICTION
There is, quite simply, a dominant force in the women’s 1500m at the moment and an extremely heavy favourite to take the gold medal and that is the defending champion Faith Kipyegon.
The Kenyan won gold ahead of Laura Muir of Great Britain in Tokyo but has since gone on to only improve, setting a world record time for the event in Paris just last month.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Who is the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s Basketball? United States
PREDICTION
It is the men’s basketball final as we approach the very end of the games and the basketball moves from Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille to the Bercy Arena in Paris, which had been used for the artistic gymnastics and trampoline last week.
As expected, the ‘dream team’ of the United States are in the final but only just after they needed a massive comeback to defeat Serbia in the semi-finals with an excellent performance from Steph Curry. France came through some really hard fought knockout victories against Germany and Canada to make the final but, even with home advantage and the USA no at their absolute best: USA should win
