Pakistan Preview: Tournament prospects already at risk
Defeat in their opening game at the hands of New Zealand means that losing here will more than likely eliminate Pakistan from semi-final contention with a game to spare unless Bangladesh can pull off a surprise win against the Black Caps. This would be a cruel scenario for Pakistan when considering how long they have been waiting to host a major tournament. However, this particular encounter will be played in Dubai.
India Preview: Favourites flex their muscles
India showed why they are seen as the team to beat in the ICC Champions Trophy on Thursday with a comfortable six-wicket victory over Bangladesh. Shubman Gill’s unbeaten hundred guided them over the line, a composed innings well supported by KL Rahul at the end, who struck 41 not out. This coming after Mohammed Shami had blown the Tigers away with a five-wicket-haul earlier in the piece.
