Pakistan Preview: Beaten again by bitter rivals

Pakistan’s defence of their ICC Champions Trophy will come to an end in the group stage after their defeat against India in Dubai. That, combined with their loss vs New Zealand means that they can no longer finish inside the top two of their group and renders this match as a dead rubber from a competition standpoint. Although, for Pakistan this is anything but with it being a major tournament fixture at home.

Bangladesh Preview: Not enough runs on the board

Batting first against New Zealand, Bangladesh managed to put up 236/9, which understandably felt too light when taking into account the quality possessed by the Black Caps among the batting department. That proved to be the case as despite a good effort from the Tigers’ bowling attack, New Zealand reached their target with five wickets and 3.5 overs remaining, ending Bangladesh’s knockout hopes.

Pakistan Betting Analysis

Of Pakistan’s four wickets taken vs India, half of them were picked up by Shaheen Shah Afridi. His left-arm thunderbolts accounted for both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Shaheen’s pace may well end up overwhelming the Bangladesh line-up and with that in mind, bettors should take a look at potential backing him to again gain over 1.5 match wickets here.

Bangladesh Betting Analysis

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led his side from the front last time out and took responsibility with the bat against New Zealand with a fine 77. Shanto opened the batting and paced his knock well, facing 110 balls in total. In good touch and high on confidence, explore a stake in Shanto via the ‘Batter Milestones’ market to accrue 20+ runs on this occasion.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh Expert Prediction

Whilst both teams may be eliminated from contention, this game should mean a lot more to Pakistan than it should Bangladesh. The hosts have waited so long to hold a major ICC tournament in their country and for it to end with them not winning a single match would be unthinkable from their perspective.

Bangladesh have been outscored by Pakistan twice over the course of their respective two group stage fixtures played so far and the same outcome is expected here. Therefore, back the host-nation to come out on top and give the home crowd something to cheer about at least.
