Ottman Azaitar: German returns after first two losses of career

Ottman Azaitar (13-2) has not had a boring career but he faces his biggest challenge so far as he tries to bounce back after the first two losses of his career. After winning the first 13 fights in his professional MMA career, Azaitar was then cut from the UFC after breaching COVID protocols. He was eventually reinstated and given a second chance but has since been knocked out in his last two fights. This is just his third fight in over four years and it'll be interesting to see what condition he comes into this fight in.

Michael Johnson: 41-fight vet looking for successive wins for first time since 2018

Michael Johnson (22-19) is certainly in the twilight of his career at the age of 38 and after 41 professional MMA fights. After losing four fights in a row between 2019 and 2021, Johnson has since won three of his last five fights. He comes off a unanimous decision victory over Darrius Flowers in February and he will be eager to follow that up with another win that would see him go back-to-back for the first time since 2018.

Ottman Azaitar vs Michael Johnson Prediction

Ottman Azaitar and Michael Johnson round off the preliminary card at UFC on ESPN 63 and the big question is what condition the German will come into this fight in. He has hardly fought in the last four years and he has lost both of his fights by knockout during that time.

Johnson is four years his senior but the veteran is still showing that he is capable that competing in the division. He has been active in recent times with varying success but he has still managed to win three of his last five fights.

We have to favour Johnson to win this fight. Azaitar’s inactivity and successive knockout losses it was grave concern over how he may come into this fight. We know what to expect from Johnson and we expect him to wrestle his way to victory.

Prediction: Michael Johnson to win via decision
