Osasuna Preview: Fluctuating Osasuna

At the start of this season, following the departure of Jago Arrasate to Real Mallorca, Osasuna were one of the teams most tipped for relegation following the appointment of Vicente Moreno. They then looked as though they may challenge for Europe before collapsing again.

After that collapse through the early spring towards relegation, they have now enjoyed four-match unbeaten run of form, recently extended by back-to-back victories as they now look back towards the top eight and the probable European spots in La Liga.

Sevilla Preview: Slow but steady Sevilla

Last week, following four successive defeats, Garcia Pimienta became the seventh coach to be sacked by Sevilla in the last three seasons and he was immediately replaced by returning legend Joaquin Caparros, now in his fourth spell in charge of the Andalusians.

His first game back in charge of the club saw them share a 1-1 draw with relegation-battling Deportivo Alaves at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan at the weekend in a game in which they took the lead via Gatito Fernandez before Kike’s equaliser in first-half stoppage-time.

Osasuna Team News: Couple of doubts

Osasuna have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for this week’s visit of Sevilla to Pamplona but they do still have a couple of injury doubts to deal with such as midfielder Jon Moncayola and attacker Raul Garcia.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sergio Herrera; Boyomo, Alejandro Catena, Juan Herrando; Jesus Areso, Jon Moncayola, Lucas Torro, Aimar Oroz, Abel Bretones; Budimir, Raul Garcia

Unavailable:

Questionable: Jon Moncayola (Injured), Raul Garcia (Injured)

Sevilla Team News: Gudelj suspended

Versatile Serbia international defensive midfielder Nemanja Gudelj is missing through suspension for this weekend, whilst winter transfer window signings Akor Adams and Ruben Vargas are both still sidelined through injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Nyland; Jose Angel Carmona, Bade, Ramon Martinez, Adria Pedrosa; Agoume, Saul; Lukebakio, Gatito, Ejuke; Isaac Romero

Unavailable: Nianzou (Injured), Gudelj (Suspended), Adams (Injured), Vargas (Injured)

Questionable:

Osasuna vs Sevilla Prediction

Osasuna have been genuinely entertaining to watch at times this season under Vicente Moreno. They have perhaps stretched that to their detriment at times, conceding two goals against such a poor side in Valladolid last weekend being an example of that. Sevilla will seek to play a more adventurous style of football of their own following the appointment of Joaquin Caparros so both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one in Navarre.
