Osasuna Preview: Osasuna issues

Osasuna come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Leganes in their most recent outing at Butarque with Lega scoring an 87th minute equaliser. That defeat means that the home team are now winless in their last nine matches across all competitions.

The hosts began the season expecting to struggle before pushing for the top seven or eight and the European spots this season following the appointment of Vicente Moreno in the summer. With eight games to go, they are in the fight for Europe and still looking over their shoulder.

Girona Preview: Catalan concerns

Last season, in their fifth ever La Liga campaign, they finished third and qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever, Girona have struggled with several key players sold and they are now sinking towards the relegation battle in Spain’s top-flight.

The visitors’ most recent outing saw them suffer a 1-0 loss at home to fellow strugglers Deportivo Alaves at Montilivi last weekend. That means they are now winless in their last eight matches and they have suffered just one defeat in their last 13 matches.

Osasuna Team News: Bryan Zaragoza still a doubt

Girona Team News: A few injuries

Ahead of the trip to El Sadar this weekend, Girona are dealing with a few injury issues as both Ricard Artero and Tottenham Hotspur loanee Bryan Gil are sidelined, whilst midfielder Ivan Martin is also a doubt due to a hamstring injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Paulo Gazzaniga; Alejandro Frances, Blind, Krejci, Miguel Gutierrez; Oriol Romeu, Yangel Herrera; Yaser Asprilla, Van de Beek, Danjuma; Abel Ruiz

Questionable: Ivan Martin (Injured)

Osasuna vs Girona Prediction

Osasuna begin the 31st match day of the 2024/25 La Liga campaign sitting just six points outside of what would be the European spots in Spain this season but just seven points above the bottom three and the relegation places. Girona are a further point behind them. Girona have been one of the more entertaining teams to watch in the league for the last few years, whilst Osasuna have attempted to play in a similar manner this time around so both teams scoring may well be a good bet for this one at El Sadar.
