Nyamjargal Tumendemberel: Unbeaten Mongolian puts 100% win record on the line

Nyamjargal Tumendemberel (8-0) has come through the Road to UFC after successive wins have taken his record to 8-0. The Mongolian flyweight has stopped all but one of his opponents and five of those have come via submission. He will now look to make his mark in Macau as he puts his 100% record on the line against Carlos Hernandez and we will get a feel for whether he is UFC quality.

Carlos Hernandez: American vet looking to avoid three losses in succession

Carlos Hernandez (9-4) has lost three of his last four fights so the 31-year-old will feel a degree of pressure to halt this run. He comes off successive losses where he was TKO’d by Tatsuro Taira in December last year and then lost a unanimous decision at the hands of Rei Tsuruya at UFC 303 in June. After coming through Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2021, Hernandez has gone 2-3 in the Octagon and he will be desperate to get back to winning ways here.

Nyamjargal Tumendemberel vs Carlos Hernandez Prediction

Nyamjargal Tumendemberel comes into this bout with a 100% record but that will be seriously tested by the experienced Carlos Hernandez here.

He has built up his record primarily in his native Mongolia so while it looks impressive, the calibre of opponent has to be questioned. While Hernandez has lost three of his last four, he has been facing some decent opposition and that counts for a fair bit.

We expect Hernandez to grind out a win here. He may be a little cautious after his recent losses, but we think he can control the bout and get a much-needed win; most likely on the scorecards.

Prediction: Carlos Hernandez to win by decision
