Nuno Borges vs Zizou Bergs Prediction

We have a really fascinating second semi-final between Nuno Borges and Zizou Bergs who have been really strong on the Challenger Tour in recent years but now meet in the semis in Auckland in the ASB Classic.

It is Borges who has had a bit more success on the ATP Tour and even won the Swedish open last year beating Rafa Nadal in the final. He comes into this semi having beaten Jakub Mensik in three sets in a quality quarter-final. Mensik has arguably been the best player this week in Auckland and Borges showed greater character and quality in fighting back from a set down to win.

Bergs will have plenty of confidence himself however coming into this one as he too came back from a set down to beat Roberto Carballes Baena in three sets. Bergs has come through five rounds to reach the stage having had to qualify and he has risen to every challenge he has faced.

We just worry that this match may be a step too far for Bergs. He has had a busy schedule and he is coming up against an in-form Borges who has an edge in experience. We also think Borges has beaten a higher calibre of opponent this week and with that in mind, he is our pick to make it through to the final.

Nuno Borges vs Zizou Bergs Tip: Nuno Borges to win
