Nuno Borges vs Raphael Collignon prediction

Nuno Borges is aiming to snap a two-match losing streak when he locks horns with in-form Belgian Raphael Collignon. 

The 28-year-old Portuguese star lost in the semi-finals in the Phoenix Challenger before suffering a narrow 7-6 7-5 defeat to Zizou Bergs in Miami.

Borges will be playing his first match on clay since he featured in Davis Cup duty at the start of February and is now seen as a scalp on the surface after defeating Rafael Nadal in the final at the ATP 250 in Bastad last year. 

We backed Collignon to follow up his excellent results in Lugano and Pau with a win over Fabio Fognini in the first round and he duly delivered, breaking the error-strewn Italian’s serve four times on his way to a 6-3 6-3 win. 

Borges is unlikely to cough up the 30 unforced errors Collignon was gifted by Fognini and we expect the Portuguese number four seed to have more firepower on the day.
