Nuno Borges vs Felix Auger-Aliassime Prediction

Nuno Borges put in a dominant display on Tuesday to eliminate Arthur Fils and the manner of his 6-2 6-1 was highly impressive. He outplayed Fils in all areas although it was as much down to the Frenchman being way below par for as good as Borges was.

He now takes on a stern test as he meets Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in the round of 16 on Wednesday. The 24-year-old was pushed all the way in his first-round match against Alexander Bublik but he eventually won in three sets 7-6 6-7 6-3.

It could have been more comprehensive had Auger-Aliassime been more ruthless with his 17 break point opportunities. He took three of them but it could have been more comfortable.

Auger-Aliassime has played some great tennis so far this year and based on his opening performance, he has plenty more to come. He will need it against Borges but we expect he will produce the goods and make it through.
