Novak Djokovic vs Tomas Machac Prediction

Novak Djokovic has had two tough opening matches against talented young players in Nishesh Basavareddy and Jaime Faria. He dropped a set in both of those matches but once he was well and truly warmed up, he eased to victory.

It will be interesting to see how he fares against a better-quality opponent like Tomas Machac here. The Czech player beta Djokovic in Geneva last year albeit on clay so he will not be phased by the challenge here.

Machac had to dig deep against Reilly Opelka last time out as he grinded his way to a five-set win and edged a 52-game match. 

He will fancy his chances of pushing Djokovic all the way here and he is capable of doing so. We would however expect Djokovic to raise his game a level here and the Serb should be consistently good enough to win the match even if Machac enjoys some good spells.
