Novak Djokovic vs Reilly Opelka Prediction

Novak Djokovic is looking incredibly comfortable already this week as he has eased to two straight-set victories against Rinki Hijikata and Gael Monfils.

He now meets American Reilly Opelka for the first time which is somewhat surprising. The 27-year-old struggled with injuries in the last couple of years but he has played at a high level since turning pro in 2015 and it seems remarkable that he has yet to play Djokovic on the ATP Tour.

Opelka has beaten Federico Gomez and Matteo Arnaldi so far and he blasted 25 aces in the win over the Italian in the round of 16. There was little in that match but Opelka won the key moments to edge it 7-6 7-6.

One would expect Djokovic to be able to get to grips with his giant serve at some stage to be able to create some opportunities against him. That said, it would be no surprise if that took some time and Djokovic focuses on preserving his energy for the right moments. 

There is little value on betting on Djokovic to win, but consider him to win in straight sets or take the over 20.5 total games in this one.
