Nottingham Forest Preview: Reliving the glory days

Nuno Espirito Santo has delivered an extremely impressive and exciting campaign for Nottingham Forest throughout this campaign with the ‘Tricky Trees’ also looking forward to an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium later this month.

With just seven games of the campaign to go, Forest begin this weekend’s round of fixtures knowing they need to collect a maximum of 17 points but probably a lot fewer to secure a top five spot and UEFA Champions League qualification this season.

Everton Preview: Sticky Toffees

Everton have made themselves very difficult to beat since the return of David Moyes and the Toffees continued in that way with a fifth draw in six matches at the weekend as they came from a goal down to share a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Goodison Park last week.

That came on the back of an unfortunate 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the derby at Anfield the previous midweek and does technically now mean they are winless in their last six games but that won’t, or at least shouldn’t, be overly concerning for Toffees supporters.

Nottingham Forest Team News: Striking doubts

In his pre-match press conference, Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that the likes of Anthony Elanga, Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood will have to be assessed ahead of this weekend's visit of Everton. Alex Moreno has returned to the squad after being ineligible to face Villa last weekend.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sels; Williams, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Anderson; Danilo, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Silva

Unavailable: Aina (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)

Questionable: Elanga (Fitness), Wood (Fitness), Awoniyi (Fitness)

Everton Team News: DCL still out

It has been confirmed that Ukraine international defender Vitaliy Mykolenko has returned to training on the grass this week but his involvement in this one would have to remain a doubt. The Toffees remain without the likes of Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Patterson; Gueye, Iroegbunam; Harrison, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Beto

Unavailable: Mangala (Injured), Lindstrom (Injured), Calvert-Lewin (Injured)

Questionable: Mykolenko (Injured)

Nottingham Forest vs Everton Prediction

Nottingham Forest are a week away from an FA Cup semi-final so it wouldn’t necessarily be unreasonable for them to take their eye off the ball this weekend. However, with the mathematical confirmation a top five spot within their grasp now, every game is a cup final or semi-final. They face an Everton side that will not coast under Moyes but the rest of their season does revolve around finishing Goodison Park off in style. Forest are the team to be sided with in what may not be a thriller for the neutral.
