Norway Preview: Norwegian promise

Coached by former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Stale Solbakken, the Norwegians have developed have impressive array of youngsters and attackers but have underperformed by failing to even compete in qualification for major tournaments.

However, despite a 5-1 loss to Austria last month, Norway have been much-improved during the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League campaign and come into this one on the back of an impressive 4-1 hammering of Slovenia in Ljubljana the other day.

Kazakhstan Preview: Poor Kazakhs

After surprising most of Europe to get promoted to the UEFA Nations League, the Kazakhstan national side have endured a swift return back down to League C by collecting just one point from five matches in League B Group 4.

Kazakhstan come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Austria with first-half goals coming from Michael Gregoritsch and Christoph Baumgartner. They have found the step up in quality far too big a jump.

Norway Team News: Coping without Odegaard

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard withdrew from the squad due to rehabilitation but their impressive depth in attack means that they coped well with it the other day.

Norway vs Kazakhstan Prediction

With a flat and aggressive 4-4-2 system, Norway will set about Kazakhstan with an intensity and aggression that they showed in Ljubljana the other night. The Norwegians have often flattered to deceive but appear to be getting things together, albeit doing so in a very open way. They face a Kazakhstan side that will sit back and try to soak up pressure but they don’t appear capable of being obdurate at this level so a comfortable Norway win is to be expected.
