The prediction

Carlton come into this clash with some momentum; they were far too strong for the West Coast, leading all the way in a 71-point victory. In previous weeks they have held leads into the second half and failed to maintain the margin.

North Melbourne’s woes were exposed for a third successive week when they were throttled by the speed and precision kicking of the Gold Coast Suns. The Kangaroos have conceded margins of 36 (Crows), 65 (Swans) and 52 (Suns) in a worrying trend for Head Coach Alastair Clarkson.

Carlton and North Melbourne have shared the honours over the past ten games, winning five each. Carlton have won the last four of those contests by an average margin of 37 points, so the recency bias clearly favours the Blues.

In terms of disposals, the Kangaroos have been led by Harry Sheezel and Caleb Daniel who are each averaging 29 touches per game while the Blues will look for Sam Walsh (28.2) and George Hewett (29.6) to lead the way in that category.

We like Carlton to continue their recent “recovery mode” for season 2025 in a comfortable display against the Kangaroos.
