UFC 314 at the Kaseya Center in Miami gets underway with an interesting bout in the women’s bantamweight division as Nora Cornolle takes on Hailey Cowan.
Cornolle suffered her first defeat in the UFC last time as she saw a split decision go in favour of Jacqueline Cavalcanti in September. She had won both of her previous bouts since entering the UFC against Joselyne Edwards and Melissa Mullins and she will be desperate to get back to winning ways here. A victory will see her rise up the rankings further where she currently sits 13th.
She takes on Hailey Cowan who is returning from a two-year absence after she suffered a broken leg. She lost on her UFC debut last time out in April 2023 when a unanimous decision went to Jamey-Lyn Horth. She now returns and is going to have to hit the ground running in what is a tough fight to return to.
This fight is an interesting one and the bookies have it pretty even with Cornolle coming in as the slight favourite. That is our take on it too. She has more experience in the Octagon, has been far more active than Cowan, and we like the French women’s body of work more so.
