Nishesh Basavareddy vs Alejandro Tabilo Prediction

American youngster Nishesh Basavareddy got his debut win on the ATP Tour in the first round as he eased past Argentine Francesco Comesana 6-2 6-2.

The 19-year-old impressed at the Next Gen Finals and his rise at the back end of 2024 saw him turn professional and join the ATP Tour.

He was excellent against Comesana and will now face a tough test in Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo.

Tabilo was handed a bye in the first round and the second seed will need to hit the ground running against Basavareddy. He did play in Brisbane last week but was knocked out in his opening match against Benjamin Bonzi so he has not had a great deal of court time so far in 2025.

We like Basavareddy in this one given the momentum he has. He will be the sharper of the two given the qualifying matches he has had to play and he can upset Tabilo here.
