Nice Preview: Off the back of a loss
Under the management of former Lens boss Franck Haise, Nice have enjoyed some impressive form in the calendar year of 2025 as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots with seven games to go.
However, the southerners have now collected just one point from their last three matches having most recently lost the Derby de la Cote d’Azur at the weekend, losing by two goals to one against Monaco at the Stade Louis II.
Nantes Preview: Nantes need to improve
Nantes, on the other hand, are sitting just three points above the bottom three and the danger zone ahead of the 28th match day of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign. The Canaries have managed just six victories in their 27 matches and were humiliated last weekend.
The visitors have suffered three defeats in their last four matches in the league and they most recently suffered a 3-2 loss to struggling Le Havre at Stade Oceane last weekend in a game in which Timothee Pembele, on loan from Sunderland, scored an 88th minute winner.
Nice Team News: Bard still suspended
Nice remain without defender Melvin Bard, who remains unavailable due to suspension for the northerners, whilst former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele remains sidelined due to a groin injury. 42-year-old defender Dante is also out suspended.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Bulka; Moise Bombito, Ndayishimiye, Abdelmonem; Clauss, Rosario, Santamaria, Abdi; Guessand, Cho, Boga

Nantes Team News: Castelletto still suspended
Cameroonian international defender Jean-Charles Castelletto remains suspended for Nantes this weekend, whilst they also deal with several injury issues such as Nathan Zeze, Fabien Centonze and Zimbabwe international attacker Tino Kadewere.

Nice vs Nantes Prediction
Nice need to get back on track down on the south coast this weekend. They have shown major improvement in recent months under Haise but key absentees in defensive areas cost them last weekend. They do, though, now face a Nantes side that could be considered to be circling the drain in terms of Ligue 1 relegation and if they stave it off this year then it may not be too long until they are back involved in the relegation battle.
