NICE PREVIEW: NEGLECTED NICE

INEOS’ football-side takeover of Manchester United means Nice have become something of an after-thought for their ownership group. The appointment of Franck Haise was an impressive one but they have been underwhelming across all competitions so far this season.

The southerners come into this one on the back of a 2-2 draw against Twente at the Allianz Riviera in midweek in the UEFA Europa League, fighting back from 2-0 down in that game. That means they have won two wins, five draws and a defeat since beating Saint-Etienne 8-0.

LILLE PREVIEW: IMPRESSIVE LILLE

Over the summer, Lille also had to endure a managerial change as Paulo Fonseca departed for AC Milan to be replaced by former Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais boss Bruno Genesio, who has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.

The northerners come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw against Juventus at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. That impressive point are unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions.

NICE VS LILLE PREDICTION

Nice have improved as the season has gone on. Franck Haise prefers a back three system as he did at Lens and they have been deploying that well with players beginning to become more attuned to it. They face a Lille side that played good football under Paulo Fonseca last year and are doing the same under Genesio this time around. This could be an easy on the eye clash for the neutral in which both teams scoring does appear a good bet.
