San Francisco 49ers can secure their play-off berth with a win in
their final game of the regular season but it will not be
straightforward against NFC West rivals Los Angeles Rams. The home team
will be gunning for victory themselves as they aim to secure the
divisional title. The Rams have won five straight but there is an
acknowledgement from within their camp that their performances much
improve and this would be a good place to start. However, the 49ers have
won three of their last four games and having won the past five
matchups between the two, they are given the edge with a +3.5 start on
the spread, although whichever team does prevail is likely to do so by
no more than ten points in what should be a tight affair.
