THE TEAM NEWS
ATLANTA FALCONS
- Atlanta Falcons blew a big lead for the second week in succession in what was another huge blow early in the season and they are rooted to the foot of the NFC South at 0-3 after their dramatic loss to Chicago Bears last week.
- Leading by 16 points with just under six and a half minutes left, the Falcons somehow allowed the Bears back into the contest and conceded 20 unanswered points in the closing stages as they succumbed to their third straight loss to begin the season.
- The pressure is mounting on Dan Quinn and he desperately needs a result here but he will be sweating on the fitness of his two main receivers in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley who both carry questionable tags into this game.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
- Green Bay Packers produced a superb display to move to 3-0 thanks to an eye-catching win at New Orleans Saints with QB Aaron Rodgers putting in a vintage display as he guided his team to the 37-30 success.
- Rodgers was dropping dimes all game as he threw for three TDs but it was the Packers defense that arguably deserve as much credit as they came up with a game-defining turnover to halt any momentum that the Saints were building.
- In mixed injury news, the Packers have lost WR Allen Lazard following surgery on his core but they could get fellow receiver Davante Adams back after a hamstring issue, although CB Jaire Alexander is also in doubt after failing to log a practice on Saturday.
THE PREDICTION
Atlanta Falcons have lost their last two matches in unbelievable circumstances and their failure to hang onto big leads is a major concern. They should really be coming into this matchup with Green Bay Packers at 2-1 but instead, they are 0-3 and already look in big trouble in a tough division. The 3-0 Packers have looked extremely dangerous on offense this season and are averaging over 40 points per game through Week 3. That spells trouble for the Falcons who look to have a soft underbelly defensively and with that in mind, the Packers should be able to post at least 33 points a contest they should win.
