THE TEAM NEWS
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
- Indianapolis Colts were involved in a tight contest with Baltimore Ravens last week but they were unable to hang on to a half-time lead as an intercept from QB Philip Rivers turned the game on its head and the Ravens ran out 24-10 winners.
- That defeat saw the Colts fall to 5-3 as they lost ground on Tennessee Titans at the top of the AFC South and they will now view this clash as a must-win with a tough run of games to come for Indianapolis.
- The Colts could have some issues in the TE position this week with Jack Doyle in doubt because of concussion while Mo Alie-Cox has failed to log a full practice up until Tuesday with his availability also questionable because of a knee complaint.
TENNESSEE TITANS
- Tennessee Titans avoided a third straight defeat as they got the better of Chicago Bears but despite improving to 6-2, they have some improving to do if they are to be serious contenders at the business end of the season.
- The Titans have struggled to move the ball up the field in recent matches and were restricted to just 228 total yards against the Bears, achieving just 11 first downs in the entire match.
- There are various players struggling to prove their fitness on this short week but in some good news for the Titans, key WR A.J. Brown was able to log a full practice on Tuesday and he should be able to suit-up on Thursday.
THE PREDICTION
Neither of these teams have hit the heights required to be a serious threat in the play-offs but there is still plenty of time for the pair to improve, although the winner of this clash will feel a lot better about their. There is just one game separating the two at the top of the AFC South with the Tennessee Titans holding a slender advantage with a 6-2 record. They host Indianapolis Colts in a game that could go some way to deciding the division but with little to split the two teams, this is likely to be a tight affair with the winning margin set to be 1-6 points either way.
