PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

  • Philadelphia secured an important victory over NFC East rivals New York Giants with the overtime win moving the Eagles to 6-7 but they cannot afford to slip-up as they head to Washington to face the Redskins.
  • The Eagles picked up several injuries in the win over the Giants with wide receiver Alshon Jeffery likely to miss the rest of the season due to the foot injury he picked up in that contest.
  • Fellow wideout Nelson Agholor also picked up a problem with his knee and he was forced to sit out Wednesday’s practice along with offensive tackle Lane Johnson and defensive end Derek Barnett.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

  • Washington were always in the game against Green Bay despite failing to take the lead at any point as they slipped to 3-10 and the Redskins suffered more injury woe in what has been a difficult season.
  • Redskins running back Derrius Guice picked up an MCL sprain in last week’s loss and despite that being good news, after the injury initially looked like it could be serious, he has been placed on injured reserve to ensure he does not aggravate it further.
  • Only two players sat out Wednesday’s first session of the week with Quinton Dunbar and linebacker Ryan Kerrigan missing out with hamstring and calf injuries respectively, while numerous others were limited.

THE PREDICTION

Philadelphia tied level with Dallas at the top of the NFC East standings after a crucial divisional win over New York Giants in a closely-fought Monday Night Football contest. The Eagles needed overtime to come out on top but with injuries hitting both teams in this one, and neither side looking too hot on offense, a low-scoring affair is likely but the Eagles should edge what would be a vital victory.
