PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
- Philadelphia had to produce a strong second half showing following a lacklustre first half effort to overcome divisional rivals Washington with the Eagles showing some very promising signs on offense.
- The Eagles suffered a huge injury blow with DT Malik Jackson expected to miss the entire season with the foot injury he picked up last week which left them light in the positon and has forced them to move for former Miami player Akeem Spence to fill the void.
- Fellow DT Fletcher Cox will need to overcome a toe injury that has limited him at practice during the early part of the week whilst LB Kamu Grugier-Hill is edging closer to a return following a knee injury suffered in training camp.
ATLANTA FALCONS
- Atlanta were poor in their season opener against Minnesota and even two garbage time touchdowns did not help them save face and they will need to be wary of slipping to 0-2 as they host Philadelphia.
- Rookie Falcons OL Chris Lindstrom broke a bone in his foot last week and the first-round pick has been placed on IR in a huge blow for Atlanta after they had high hopes for him to make a big impact in his debut year.
- The Falcons have a handful of players on their injury report this week but WR Russell Gage is remains the biggest doubt as he attempts to work his way through the concussion protocol in a bid to take to the field this week.
THE PREDICTION
Atlanta went down to Minnesota in their opening game last week thanks to a disappointing display and they will have to quickly improve as they host a dangerous Philadelphia offense. The Eagles looked like they can score at will from deep and that can help them make it two wins from two. The Falcons were poor both offensively and defensively and already have a big hole in their starting side after losing OL Chris Lindstrom.
