- Super Bowl champions New England sent a warning out to the rest of the NFL as they blitzed Pittsburgh in their opening game last week with their defense also making a statement as they restricted the Steelers to a single field goal.
- New acquisition Antonio Brown could make his Patriots debut after he arrived on a one-year deal following his release from the Raiders although it is not certain if he will feature after a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against him earlier in the week.
- The Patriots avoided any noteworthy injuries last week and that was backed up by none of their players sitting out the first practice of the week whilst they only had three who were limited participants.
MIAMI DOLPHINS
- Miami suffered a humiliating loss to Baltimore last week as their season got off to the worst possible start with them allowing 59 points and now they face the task of trying to bounce back from that against New England.
- Numerous Dolphins players reportedly contacted their agents after the defeat to seek a trade due to concerns over the franchise's direction which could cause an unwelcome distraction ahead of this game.
- WR Albert Wilson managed just six snaps against the Ravens with a calf injury curtailing his day and he is a doubt for this week’s game having failed to participate in practice on Wednesday.
THE PREDICTION
After Miami's disastrous start to the season last week, the last thing they want is Super Bowl champions New England rolling in to town. The Patriots looked in great shape in their season opener as they comfortably defeated the Steelers and the road team should be able to win big again. The Dolphins capitulated in the first half and if the Patriots can go ahead early on, they could pile the misery on Miami.
