THE TEAM NEWS
MIAMI DOLPHINS
- Miami were controversially denied as a late penalty on review for defensive pass interference kept the New York Jets on the field and they kicked a field goal for a walk-off win much to the dismay of Dolphins head coach Brian Flores.
- Wide receivers DeVante Parker and Albert Wilson both had to exit last week's game with concussion and are in doubt to suit up for this contest despite logging limited practices on Wednesday.
- The Dolphins could have further issues in the position with Allen Hurns also held out of practice due to ankle and knee issues and if any of the three are forced to sit out Sunday’s contest, Miami will be light on options at wideout.
NEW YORK GIANTS
- New York Giants pushed Philadelphia all the way in their divisional matchup on MNF but failed to end their losing streak in the OT loss.
- Veteran QB Eli Manning returned to the team for last week’s game due to Daniel Jones sitting out because of an ankle injury and despite the rookie being rushed back to practice early in the week, Manning is expected to retain his place under center this week.
- The Giants have said that Jones will return to the line-up when he is available but it would still be a surprise if he suits up this week while tight end Evan Engram and wide receiver Golden Tate were limited on Wednesday as they continue to battle foot issues.
THE PREDICTION
New York Giants suffered a ninth straight loss but put in an improved effort in their game against Philadelphia last week. They will be desperate to end their losing run and with Eli Manning likely to get the opportunity to play in front of his home fans once again, he should be able lead his side to a rare victory against a Dolphins outfit that look set to be light in the receiving corps.
