- Houston's play-off hopes suffered a hit as they were on the end of a shock loss against Denver which saw them fall to 8-5 and they now head into a potentially season-defining game with plenty of work to do following their poor Week 14 showing.
- The Texans are trending towards a healthy roster and that will be a welcome boost ahead of this crucial matchup against the Titans with every player present at Wednesday’s first practice of the week.
- Right tackle Chris Clark, cornerback Gareon Conley, wide receiver Will Fuller and linebacker Brennan Scarlett were the only players that were limited on Wednesday but all look likely to suit up come Sunday.
TENNESSEE TITANS
- Tennessee made it four wins in a row and six wins from their last seven games as they picked up another vital win over Oakland and that victory coupled with Houston’s loss against Denver drew the Titans level with the Texans at the top of the AFC South standings.
- Running back Derrick Henry played through a hamstring injury last week and the Titans will do everything they can to keep him healthy which is likely to include very limited participation in practice with him sitting out on Wednesday.
- Wide receiver Adam Humphries and cornerback Adoree Jackson were also unable to log any kind of practice while issues linger in the secondary and could get even worse with cornerback LeShaun Sims and safety Kenny Vaccaro both limited.
THE PREDICTION
The AFC South is shaping up to be a two-horse race between Tennessee and Houston with the pair meeting in this vital encounter. They both sit at 8-5 which is why this is so important for both, but with the Texans losing last week they are the team with it all to do. The Titans are in great form and will prove difficult to beat despite potential injuries in the secondary with a fifth straight win on the cards for them here.
