CLEVELAND BROWNS
- Cleveland bounced back from their loss to Pittsburgh as they picked up a scrappy victory against Cincinnati to move to 6-7 but the Browns still have plenty of work to do to force themselves into contention for a wildcard.
- Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been nursing a sports hernia and that may explain some lacklustre performances from the star recruit and he is expected to take on a light load at practice for the rest of the year to manage the injury.
- Center J.C Tretter was the only squad member kept out of practice up until Thursday as he nurses a knee injury but five others were limited including wideout Jarvis Landry who has an issue with his hip.
ARIZONA CARDINALS
- Arizona could not end their losing streak as they were edged out by Pittsburgh to make it six consecutive losses as they dropped to 3-9-1 and the Cardinals are now almost certain to end up with a top 10 pick in next year’s draft.
- Defensive tackle Rodney Gunter suffered a toe injury against the Steelers and that knock was serious enough to end his season for the Cardinals after they placed him on injured reserve.
- With an open spot on their roster, Arizona moved to re-sign defensive lineman Caraun Reid less than a week after releasing him to make room to promote cornerback Jalen Davis from their practice squad.
THE PREDICTION
Cleveland still possess a chance of forcing their way into the play-off picture but cannot afford to lose any more games. They came out on top against Cincinnati last week and although they need to improve, they are not facing a team that should cause them many problems this week with the Cardinals struggling defensively and the Browns should be able to make it back-to-back wins in this road game.
