THE TEAM NEWS

BUFFALO BILLS

  • Buffalo ended the season on a high with four wins from their final seven matches but it was not enough to make the play-offs with the Bills facing another tough task this season to improve their awful record of making the post-season.
  • The Bills moved to sign six linemen in free agency as they looked to bolster their protection for QB Josh Allen whilst they also picked up DT Ed Oliver as the ninth overall selection in the draft.
  • WR Andre Roberts will be assessed day-to-day ahead of the season opener after he failed to participate in training with an injury to his quadriceps early in the week whilst TW Tyler Kroft continues to work his way back from foot surgery.

NEW YORK JETS

  • New York Jets endured a poor season and ended with a 4-12 record which allowed them to draft DT Quinnen Williams as the third overall pick but they will have ambitions of making the play-offs this year.
  • The Jets made a huge move in free agency as they signed one of the most sought-after players on the market in RB Le'Veon Bell and his addition alone will change the face of their offense.
  • WR Robby Anderson was limited at practice in the early part of the week but the Jets will be able to call upon their number one receiver will need to overcome a calf injury to participate in this game whilst CB Trumaine Johnson and G Brian Winters should also suit-up.

THE PREDICTION

Both of these teams struggled last season and will be hoping that their raft of new players can give them the boost they need. The Jets brought in Le'Veon Bell in one of the most high-profile free agency signings in NFL history and he can lead his new team to a win in Week 1. His new side will face a tough task against a Bills side that ended last year well but Bell will want to make a big impression having sat out the entirety of last season and he can do just that.
