Newcastle's form had picked up before the break and they now welcome struggling West Ham to St. James' Park on Monday hoping to continue that momentum.

Kick-off date/time: Monday 25th November, 2024: UK – 8:00pm / US ET – 3:00pm / US PT – 12:00pm

How to watch on TV: UK – Sky Sports / US – USA Network

Newcastle Preview: Steady improvement

It has not been the start to the season that many Newcastle fans would have hoped for, but three wins in all competitions before the international break were hugely welcome, and the Magpies are very much in the mix for the European places at the moment.

Not since September last year have Eddie Howe's men won three consecutive Premier League games but they will feel confident of doing so against an opponent they have lost against just once in the last five-and-a-half years.

West Ham Preview: Stuttering Hammers

Julen Lopetegui remains a man very much under pressure with his West Ham side seemingly unable to string a sequence of positive results together, although there is at least some distance between themselves and the drop zone.

Their goalless draw with Everton last time out was another disappointing display although they did come up against an excellent display from opposing goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who made a string of excellent saves to deny the Hammers.

Newcastle Team News: Burn suspended but Trippier could make it

Dan Burn is suspended after receiving his fifth Premier League yellow card of the campaign last time out, while fellow defender Emil Krafth will be out for around two months after undergoing an operation on a troublesome shoulder injury.

Kieran Trippier has a good chance of being involved after sustaining a thigh injury against Everton, while Callum Wilson is also close to a recall should he come through training unscathed.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Kelly, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Willock; Gordon, Isak, Joelinton

Unavailable: Botman (Injured), Lascelles (Injured), Krafth (Injured), Burn (Suspended)

Questionable: Trippier (Injured), Wilson (Injured)

West Ham Team News: Alvarez back

Edson Alvarez could take his place in the middle of the park after completing his suspension, but summer signing Niclas Fullkrug, who hasn't featured for the Hammers since the end of August, still isn't ready to make the squad.

Lopetegui stated that two other players are doubtful for the trip to the north east, but did not elaborate on names.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Paqueta, Bowen, Summerville; Antonio

Unavailable: Kudus (Suspended), Fullkrug (Injured)

Newcastle vs West Ham Prediction

Newcastle were starting to click before the international break and looking more like the team most onlookers expected them to be before the season started, while West Ham are yet to really get going under Julen Lopetegui.

Alexander Isak has hit form of late having scored in his last four Newcastle appearances, while he was also on target for Sweden in UEFA Nations League action recently. With West Ham conceding 14 goals in their last five away games in all competitions, backing the Magpies striker to get on the scoresheet looks like a sensible play.
