Newcastle Knights Team News: A single change for Adam O’Brien’s men

After the Knights picked up a hard-fought win last week in the opening round, head coach Adam O’Brien makes just one solitary change from the squad. Veteran back-rower Adam Elliott comes into the squad at the expense of Brodie Jones who is the 18th man for this match. Otherwise, O’Brien was delighted with the performance last week and they will look to build on it here.

Dolphins Team News: Mixed team news for Dolphins

After putting a real dogged display last week against the Rabbitohs, the Dolphins fell narrowly short but they can be proud of the performance amid all the disruption caused by the cyclone. Conditions forced the match to be relocated and a trio of players stayed home with their families. Playmaker Kodi Nikorima and veteran forwards Mark Nicholls and Kenny Bromwich all return to the squad for this match which is a big boost especially as Kulikefu Finefeuiaki (concussion) and Connelly Lemuelu (fractured eye socket) both miss out.

Round two of the NRL gets underway with one of the more evenly-matched games on paper. Both teams were involved in tight matches in the opening round and there is every chance that this will follow suit.

The Knights have won their last three matches against the Dolphins and they come into this after a win last week. Their last few weeks have been solid whereas the Dolphins have had a disrupted time of it due to the cyclone. They have also picked up some injuries which will not help matters and one would expect that to impact them further.

Everything is pretty smooth for the Knights in contrast and we like them here as a solid play.
