New Zealand Warriors vs Newcastle Knights prediction
The Newcastle Knights face a stern test when they travel to New Zealand for an Anzac Day clash against the New Zealand Warriors. So far on the young season, the Knights have scored just 60 points from their six matches at an average of 10 points per game while conceding 120 points at an average of 20 points per game. In fact, their defensive numbers stack up quite well, conceding the third fewest in the competition. However, their attacking options have been impacted by inconsistent halves pairings week in and week out. Two late tries against the Sharks put some respectability in the score line however, they were never really in the match on the weekend.
The Warriors on the other hand are 3-0 at home on the young season and appear to have put their poor start to the year in Las Vegas in the rear-view mirror. A winning, long range penalty goal against the Broncos was the latest feather in the cap for Luke Metcalf and he continues to win praise for his play in the halves.
This will be the 51st match between the two sides and there isn’t a split hair between the two: 25 wins for each. In New Zealand though, the Warriors hold a 17-11 advantage, including the past three.
We think the Warriors will use the home field advantage to come away with a victory in this one.
