New Zealand vs Fiji Prediction

New Zealand, as mentioned, were always expected to guarantee qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with relative ease and they did cruise through the second round group stages as they now take on a Fiji side that finished as runners’ up to New Caledonia in Group A.

New Zealand have more pedigree than any other side in Oceania and have one of the in-form strikers anywhere in European club football, Chris Wood, bidding to make his first ever 2026 FIFA World Cup. In their three-match group stage campaign, they won all three matches, conceding just one goal and scoring 19 goals in the process.

They face a Fiji side that went unbeaten in their group stage campaign with a victory against the Solomon Islands as well as draws against New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea. Under the management of Rob Sherman, the ‘Bula Boys’, as they are nicknamed, are currently ranked 148th in the world, according to FIFA.

Fiji proved themselves difficult to beat in the groups but this is now a very different standard and quite a comfortable New Zealand victory is to be expected for this one in Wellington.
