New Zealand Form: Hosts a shadow of what we saw against India
Once again, New Zealand’s batting hugely disappointed across the second Test, bowled out for 125 and 259 respectively. Once again, they gave up a big first innings lead, which led the Black Caps to another heavy defeat in the India. It’s been one of the most disappointing series we’ve seen from New Zealand in a long time so far and feels like the end of an era when considering the age of some of their players, particularly on the bowling side.

England Form: Stokes’ men ruthless with bat and ball
Take nothing away from England, who have been magnificent in all departments over the course of both Tests so far. New players like Jacob Bethell are shining and the tourists’ replenished bowling attack is starting to reap rewards with Brydon Carse and Gus Atkinson ripping through New Zealand, the latter taking a hat-trick in the second Test.

New Zealand Betting Analysis
After having been inexplicitly left out of the first two Tests, batter Will Young returns to the New Zealand side in Hamilton, opening the batting in place of Devon Conway. Young top scored for his country across the triumphant India series, racking up 244 runs with an average of just under 50.00 so he’ll have a point to prove here to the selectors. Back Young to rack up 70+ runs over the course of this final Test.
England Betting Analysis
After scoring just 23 runs across the first Test, it was perhaps inevitable that Joe Root would resume normal service in the second game and indeed he did. His 33rd Test century saw the Yorkshireman draw level with Sir Alastair Cook for the most Test hundreds scored by an England player. It was 106 that Root racked up in his side’s second innings, ensuring an insurmountable lead. Back Root to finish England’s first innings of the third Test as their highest-scoring batter.
New Zealand vs England Expert Prediction
The series may be gone, but New Zealand are still playing for pride and certain names, for their places. However, the batting line-up of the home side have had simply no answer to England’s bowlers all series long, not helped by some avoidable dismissals. England meanwhile, have blown New Zealand’s bowlers away and that isn’t expected to change here. The smart move would be to back England to carry their momentum through this third encounter and seal a historic sweep.
