Nate Landwehr: Performance of the Night specialist looking for another bonus
Nate Landwehr (18-5) has racked up three Performance of the Nights and one Fight of the Night bonus in his last five fights so entertainment is very much guaranteed with the 36-year-old. He was set to face Austin Hubbard back at UFC 307 but he had to withdraw from that bout and now is scheduled to face Dooho Choi in what is surely a Fight of the Night contender. Landwehr last fought in March when he knocked out Jamall Emmers in the first round. That was his fourth win in his last five and he will be eager to extend this excellent run.
Dooho Choi: Korean Superboy fired up to get back on track
Dooho Choi (15-4-1) returned to action in July and picked up a TKO win over Bill Algeo and the Korean Superboy will now be looking to follow that up. After a tough run where he lost to Cub Swanson by decision and suffered knockouts to Jeremy Stephens and Charles Jourdain, he had over three years out due to injuries. He returned in February 2023 and fought Kyle Nelson to a draw and then spent another 14 months inactive until he beat Algeo. Choi is as entertaining as they come but he maybe very well have some rust in his performance after just two fights in the last five years.
Nate Landwehr vs Dooho Choi Prediction
This fight may not have an title or major rankings ramifications to it, but it is on the main card because fireworks are all but guaranteed.
Nate Landwehr and Dooho Choi only know one way of fighting and win or lose, their fights are always great to watch.
The sheer number of fight or performance of the night bonuses the pair have received shows just how good both are to watch and this fight promises to be no different.
The odds are pretty even with Landwehr marginal favourite but we think he is the one that offers the best value here. We expected him to potentially be an even bigger favourite given the fact that Choi has fought so little in recent years.
He could of course hit the ground running and come out firing which always makes him dangerous but we just edge Landwehr’s activity to serve him well here. This fight could end at any moment and it seems unlikely to go the distance but it is Landwehr who just gets the nod for us. Our play is on this one ending before the final bell however.
Prediction: Fight not to go the distance
