NAMIBIA PREVIEW: HERO TO ZERO

Namibia qualified for their first ever major tournament when they played at and reached the knockout stages of the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, which featured a famous victory against Tunisia as they qualified for the Round of 16.

The Namibians have started their qualification campaign for the 2025 event with four defeats from four, though, and have already been eliminated after their 3-1 defeat to Zimbabwe in their most recent outing last month.

CAMEROON PREVIEW: IMPROVED CAMEROONIANS

Over the summer, former Oud-Heverlee Leuven boss Marc Brys took charge of a stagnant and underperforming Cameroonian national side but the Indomitable Lions have been much-improved since his appointment.

The Cameroonians have collected ten points from their four games in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and they come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Kenya in Uganda last month thanks to a 63rd minute winner from DC United midfielder Boris Enow.

NAMIBIA TEAM NEWS: NO ISSUES

Namibia could make changes and experiment given that they are already out of AFCON qualification with key men remaining Peter Shalulile and Riaan Hanamub.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Maova; Nashixwa, Hambira, Hanamub; Kamberipa, Amutenya, Petrus, Hotto; Tjiueza; Muzeu, Shalulile

CAMEROON TEAM NEWS: FULLY FIT

Cameroon do not have injury issues for this one and have some excellent attacking options that include Brentford’s star man Bryan Mbeumo as well as Vincent Aboubakar and Frank Magri.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Onana; Tchatchoua, Ngadeu-Ngadjui, Castelletto, Tolo; Hongla, Kunde, Anguissa; Mbeumo, Aboubakar, Bassogog

NAMIBIA VS CAMEROON PREDICTION

This game is being played at the neutral venue of the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg so even if Namibia would have had a slight edge with home advantage, that has been nullified and has hampered them throughout their qualifying campaign. Cameroon have still not been overly fluent or free scoring but are much better than they were at the start of the year and a Cameroonian victory is to be expected for this one.
