Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants Expert Prediction

The Mumbai Indians won the first ever season of the Women’s Premier League in 2023 before losing last season’s eliminator to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The Gujarat Giants, on the other hand, have finished rock-bottom in each of the first two league stages in the WPL.

The Mumbai Indians enjoyed five victories with three defeats in their eight matches in the Women’s Premier League. MI finished just below league phase winners Delhi Capitals on Net Run Rate with a defeat to RCB in their final game but they remain very strong and defeated Gujarat in the league phase just a few days ago.

In that game, MI set 180 to win but managed to bowl Gujarat out for 170 with Amelia Kerr taking 3-34 from her four overs. Gujarat have been much better this season but that was their fourth defeat of the campaign and they had started with three defeats in their first four matches before wins against the two eliminated sides RCB and UP Warriorz, as well as against Delhi.

Mumbai have an excellent squad chock full of talent and will be frustrated to have to even go through the eliminator with them being firm favourites for this eliminator against Gujarat.
